Linda Parish
Linda Parish is Head of our Family Law Department and also a member of the Law Society Children’s Panel. She has gained a wealth of experience as a Family Law Practitioner after qualifying as a solicitor in 1981. Dealing with all local authority involvement from Child Protection Conferences, advising and representing parents through the PLO process and also specialising in Court Care Proceedings. She is a member of Resolutions who operate the most rigorous Accreditation Scheme so that the public can recognise those lawyers who are truly Family Law Specialists. Linda is also accredited as a Resolutions Specialist in children issues and domestic abuse. She also holds the Law Society’s accreditation in Family Law and is able to represent parents, grandparents and other adults in cases involving children. Linda undertakes both private & legal aid work.
Stephen Alexander
Stephen is a vastly experienced family law Solicitor dealing with children and financial cases. He is a long standing member of the Law Society Children Panel of Solicitors specializing in child law.
After obtaining an LL.B Honours degree in law he qualified as a Solicitor in 1992 and has nearly 20 years experience, predominantly in family law practice. He joined Spicketts Battrick Family Team in September 2010.
Ieva Domehri
Ieva is a solicitor in the family law department who advises clients on matters relating to child arrangements disputes, social services involvement including PLO and care proceedings, domestic violence protection orders, divorce/nullity and financial matters. She also advises on Forced Marriage Protection Orders, child abduction proceedings and related issues. Ieva is fluent in the Lithuanian language and is happy to assist clients in either English or Lithuanian.
Ieva graduated from Swansea University in 2017 with a Masters Degree in Law following which she completed her Legal Practice Course at University of Law in 2019. Ieva joined Spicketts Battrick Law Practice as a Legal Assistant in the Family Law Department in 2017 after already having gained family law experience at another well established law firm in Wales. Ieva then undertook her training contract with Spicketts Battrick Law Practice and qualified as a solicitor in 2022.
Laura Scrivens
Laura graduated from Cardiff University with a Law Degree in 2017, she then completed the Legal Practice Course, also at Cardiff University in 2019. Laura gained experience in conveyancing, equity release, and family law as a legal assistant and then went on to complete her training contract. During her training, Laura experienced working within the family department and the private client department. Laura qualified as a solicitor in October 2022 and then joined Spicketts Battrick Law Practice.
Laura’s main focus at Spicketts Battrick is assisting clients with contact and residence matters also known as child arrangemen ts. Laura is also adept at dealing with public law proceedings when the local authority become involved, from the PLO process to representing clients in care proceedings. Laura is also involved in court proceedings where clients require advocacy concerning non-molestation and occupation orders.
Laura is also a fluent Welsh speaker and is happy to discuss matters through the medium of Welsh.
Shay Taylor
Shay is a Trainee Solicitor in our family law department. She joined Spicketts Battrick Law Practice in December 2021 as a Legal Assistant, and commenced her training contract in January 2023. Shay is due to qualify as a solicitor in January 2025.
Shay advises and assists clients on divorce and financial settlement matters. She assists in high net worth and complex financial settlement cases, including where multiple properties and businesses are involved. Shay also has experience in drafting pre and post nuptial agreements as well as separation agreements. Before starting her training contact she assisted in child arrangement cases and care proceedings.
Shay obtained a 2:1 in her Law Degree at Cardiff University and then went onto achieve a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course at the University of South Wales. Prior to joining Spicketts Battrick Law Practice Shay gained experience in a number of high street law firms as a legal assistant.
